She learned to navigate emotion long before she ever taught it.
Born and raised in the United States to Jamaican parents, Dr. Janet Palmer is the eldest and only daughter of a Quaker minister and an educator. Her younger brother, John, lived with Down syndrome and taught her the truth her whole message rests on: worth is never something you earn by achievement.
For twenty-five years she served as a school psychologist and building administrator, sitting with people on the worst days of their lives. When September 11th reshaped how she understood purpose, she answered a different call and began coaching leaders.
Then came her own tests. Breast cancer in 2021. A second diagnosis and a BRCA1 result in 2025. She kept serving through all of it, held up by a faith that grew louder as the news grew harder. When she speaks about resilience, no one in the room doubts her. She has lived every word.
